Day 6

Subject: Fail to plan, [firstname], and you'll plan to fail

Hi [firstname],

I'm sure you've heard the old saying: If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. It's as true today as its always been.

Business plan, life plan they're both important. After all, if you don't know what you want, how will you know when you've got it?

Sadly, life isn't like a fairly tale where you can rub a lamp and a genie will grant you three wishes. You have to formulate a plan of action (a roadmap if you like) to help get you from where you are now to where you want to be.

It's a good idea to try and visualize what your life will be like when your business is successful. I mean REALLY imagine what it will be like to run your successful business, drive that expensive car, afford to spend romantic breaks with your other half, etc.

Decide ahead of time what you want to achieve, THEN focus on how you're going to get it.

A good way to do this, is to begin at your goal and work back to now. If in order to finally accomplish your goal you have to do this, and to do this you first have to do that - all the way back to where you are now you'll know precisely what you need to do. You'll also be able to tell if your goal really IS achievable or not. If the latter, you won't be wasting time on something that can never happen.

Once you know what you want, and how to get it, there's only one thing left to do

Go and get it! You see, a plan without action is like a car without gasoline. It's not going to get you anywhere. I'll explain more tomorrow.

Warmly,

[Your Name]
